History
Trombonist Mel Henry moved to Bath from London 3 years ago. He had been active on the London jazz scene for many years.
He led his own very successful quintet in Islington, which backed jazz greats such as George Melly, Tony Coe, Joe Harriott and Bruce Turner.
Since his arrival in Bath, he played for two years with the jazz-funk band Metropolis and formed a new Quintet that can regularly be seen playing locally. His favourite trombonists include Bob Brookmeyer and Frank Rosolino and this has greatly influenced his style.
Guitarist Terry Veal is well known on the South-West jazz scene and has played in a considerable variety of bands.
As well as currently playing with 'Jazz Times Two', Terry can be seen with the Gypsy jazz outfit, 'French Connection'. He is a great admirer of the acoustic guitarist Jim Hall and this is reflected in his playing with the duo.
